the female factor x Senat der Wirtschaft launch new podcast: leaders talk

Updated: Feb 13, 2022

Christine Antlanger-Winter, how does one actually become the boss of Google in Austria?

Mahdis Gharaei, co-CEO of the female factor, asks high-ranking female decision-makers these and other questions in the new podcast format "leaders talk" by the female factor in cooperation with “The Economic Senate Austria”.

Only 14 (!) of 192 board members of listed companies in Austria are female. The proportion of female members on the boards of Austrian companies has increased by only a few percentage points in recent years.

"If we keep up this pace, we won't reach female equality for almost a quarter of a century."

Things don't look any better at CEO level either. The 2020 Gender Diversity Index reports that there are only three female CEOs in Austria's 50 largest publicly traded companies. The same number was reported for 2018, with the same three women at the top.

To counteract and inspire the next generation of female leaders, the career and leadership network "the female factor" and the "The Economic Senate" have joined forces and launched the podcast series "leaders talk". The podcast series invites Austrian female CEOs and board members for an honest conversation and aims to show which paths are possible to get into a leadership position in Austria.

"Our podcast will serve as a platform to inspire and support the next generation of female leaders on their career path. I look forward to talking with our guests,"

says Mahdis Gharaei, co-CEO of the female factor and podcast host.

"As a driving force in shaping a sustainable economy, it is incredibly important for all female role models to share their advice and stories. We lead by example and are proud to be part of this movement," Mahdi Allagha, initiator of the podcast series, explains the background to the cooperation with the female factor.

episode #1 out now

The series will kick off with Christine Antlanger-Winter, Country Director of Google Austria and former CEO of the media agency Mindshare Austria. Antlanger-Winter joined Google in 2018 and within her role aims to drive innovation and digital skills in Austria.

Other high-profile podcast guests include Christiane Noll, Country Director of Avanade, Dr. Sabine Herlitschka, CEO and CTO of Infineon, and many more.

The podcast series starts on 17/11/2021 and is accessible via the regular podcast platforms.
